Teaching
Hi all! One of my favorite roles in the music world is that of a teacher. I really enjoy sharing the music I love and the techniques that enable us to make it. I started my education career at the K-12 level; since then, I've held faculty positions at the college level, adjudicated jazz festivals, and taught many private students.
I'm currently accepting new students of all ages, both in person (in the Southern California area) and worldwide (online)! My students have gone on to study music everywhere from New England Conservatory to The Royal Welsh College of Music to Cal State Northridge to Harvard. I've also taught a number of top-tier LA professional musicians who are learning new skills within the music industry. But the vast majority of my students have been casual learners who just enjoy furthering their skills. I've covered a wide variety of topics including piano, general music theory, jazz theory, music composition, songwriting, orchestration, music copying, and synth design. If you're interested, let's talk! You can reach me here.
